Literacy rates in the US are the lowest level in decades and worse in low-income, marginalized communities. Writing Waves creates opportunities and lowers the barrier of entry for writing because we believe in the power of literature to benefit both readers and writers and inspire actual change.

Organizing Online Workshops
We organize Zoom workshops with students from 5 unique countries across the world. The majority of our 60+ elementary and middle school students have been racial minorities currently underrepresented in American media. 5-6 days long, our camp curriculums have been carefully curated to be fun and rewarding for all students of every level!
